Bosses are the only places you can get some of the unique items from. Another place you can get unique items from is the Forgotten Temple (see below).

Occasionally a GM may host a Boss Event, in which numerous bosses are spawned throughout towns. In these boss events you shouldn’t lose any exp from dying. If you are lucky to be one of the first to get to a boss, you should have a rogue do a drain on it. For example, if the rogue uses Vampiric Drain, ten percent of the monster’s total current HP will be damaged. For a hard boss, 10% is a lot of damage, and you have a much greater chance of getting the drop (loot) if lots of parties are attacking it. In the end, the one who gets the drop is the party who inflicted the most damage, so draining can come in very handy.

11. Clans

You may, during some time of your KO career, decide to join a clan. Clans are groups of up to 36 members. They may be allied with other clans. The advantages of having a clan is that you are able to party with them regardless of the level difference, you can chat across different servers, and you can see if they are online or not. Clans are also good places to meet people and make connections.

To make a clan you have to be level 20 or higher, and it costs 500k (500 thousand) noahs. You must be on server1, in your home castle, to make a clan. A clan can have one clan leader, and three clan assistants. The clan leader can ban people, invite (join) people, and appoint assistants. The clan assistants can only invite people.

More organized clans will have TeamSpeak or Ventrilo servers, in which you talk using microphones. It is much easier and faster than typing, while you may be busy doing something like healing. Good clans will have regular exp or pking sessions, helping each other advance in the game.

Clan grades are determined by the total amount of National Points in the clan.

The lowest grade is Grade 5, the highest grade is Grade 1. The grades are shown by armbands on the player’s left arm (see “Useful Pictures” below). The top 5 clans (in terms of total national points) of each nation on each server will have a yellow glow over their armbands.

Grade 4 – 74k – 144k NP
